2026 Elections - Who to vote for

Community Vibes

Vote for change, honesty, transparency and accountability

Most of us are seventy+ grandmas on Social Security and SNAP benefits who can't afford the capricious spending of funds by the current board members at Coco Wood Lakes.

Vote the incumbents out and replace them with JIM YOUNG, MARY YOUNG and DANETTE NANEZ

Disdain from the board

If they don't like you or your comments, they only let you talk for three minutes. If you go beyond that, they shut you down and don't consider your opinion or suggestion. Former board president Mike Dorman's dismissive reply to you would be, "That's just your opinion."

But if you're their friend or supporter, they let you talk without interruption or a time limit.

Got Questions?

Who are the grandmas and the grandpas?

We are more than eighty spirited grandmas and grandpas just rocking it at Coco Wood Lakes who are backing the initiatives and efforts of JIM YOUNG, MARY YOUNG and DANETTE NANEZ to foster genuine and honest leadership and transparency in our community. They will get our Reserves and finances back on track WITHOUT raising dues or imposing Special Assessments. The incumbents have promised to bring higher dues every year, which they have done consistently for the past four years while driving our Reserves into the ground and having to take a $200,000 loan to pay for two projects in the past year that exceeded the loan and the estimated and approved costs. Several of the incumbents have already stated they also favor Special Assessments. We don't need that, or them!

How can I help?

For the past 10+ years, we've been controlled by board members who were on power trips, mismanaged our funds, practiced favoritism and SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT OF RULES, drained our Reserves to the point that there wasn't enough to pay the bills, and never gave us a voice in our community.
We need to regain control of our freedom and financial future to preserve the value of our homes.

We are a friendly bunch of old folks who don't want to be part of the hatred coming from the board and their cult-like followers who are destroying the friendliness of the community. Your vote for JIM YOUNG, MARY YOUNG and DANETTE NANEZ will bring integrity, honesty, transparency, experienced leadership, and financial management to the board that will benefit all of us.

The election is about bringing fairness to all homeowners and stabilizing our finances with a moratorium on spending. We need a new board that values and listens to the homeowners. We don't want a group of indifferent rulers who pursue their own agendas, act as they please, deceive us, mismanage funds, and then come back to tell us they are increasing our dues every year because they cannot control their spending.

The election is happening now. You will receive a Voting Ballot packet in the mail, or by an email from the office. Place your vote as soon as possible so that you don't wait until the last day and then forget. That happens too many times, so vote early. Voting is closed/ends on February 11 at 7pm when the counting begins. No votes are accepted after that.

We got Answers

These grandmas and grandpas are just trying to live out their golden years without problems. Unfortunately, we have battles to fight now.
